最初にハッピーエンドを見ない方が良いかもしれません。

テーマもそうですが、テキストがこちらの感情を煽り気味な感じなので(このライターさんのその後の代表作よりは控えめだと思いますが)、合わない方もいるかもしれません。一般的に高評価な作品ですが、名作ゆえのアクの強さもあると思います。
