本作では前作から長い月日が経っているため、前作と前々作の主要人物はほとんど登場しない。
とはいえ魅力的なキャラクターの数々は健在で、
指揮官の為に奮起したり、健気に突撃する人間戦車の姿は変わらず可愛い。

ただ本作では戦場に配備できる車両の種類が予め決められているため、お気に入りの部隊で無双することは出来ない。
自由度は大きく下がった感があるが、
限られた戦力で勝利条件を満たす、という制約により各ステージにおける戦術性がより重要になっている。

各ステージ毎に着実に対策を練って戦いたい、というタイプの人にオススメの作品。
