結晶水作品と言えば、その「儚さ」というよりは「呆気なさ」という方がどちらかと言えばシックリ来る面があるが、今作のエリート部隊は、その中でも群を抜いていると個人的には思う。
特に冒頭でのエリート部隊とその直後に訪れる展開は呆気なさと前述したが、寧ろ愕然とするかのような、無論部隊の者達からすれば驚愕・ありえないという様な展開なのだろうが、読者側や結晶水作品をこれまで読んできた側からすると、興味深い展開であった。今後のシリーズ続編がどう展開されるのかが興味深い。
