相方システムと呼ばれる特殊な制度が導入された女子高に通う少女たちの物語である本作。

マッチングテストによって基本的には同じ学年同士の生徒が相方になるのが普通なのだが、1年生の狭山ナオと2年生は朝霞イブキのふたりは、「希少種」と呼ばれる学年違いの相方となった存在で。

王子というあだ名がつくほどの人気者であるイブキと組むことになったナオだったが、そんなナオのことを良く思わない人たちもいて……
