Great apart from one crippling flaw

Whatever you might know about the Japanese language, it’s important to note that “Gyakushu no Oboro” apparently translates into “The Blurry Swaying Headache Movie.” But more on that in a moment.

I did not purchase this movie through DLsite, but saw it through a friend and for that, I’m grateful as I would not have cared to spend money on it.

Everyone else reviewing the product has given it glowing reviews, so I’ll be quick about the praise and move onto the problem. The animation is lovely, the females extremely attractive, the action intense, and the voice acting erotic.

So if it has all that going for it, what could be wrong with this movie?

The camera work.

There is absolutely no excuse for how extravagantly AWFUL the camera work in this film is. It sways constantly and without any direction, NEVER holding still, not even for a second. It goes in and out of focus over and over for no reason at all. You barely get to appreciate that lovely artwork because you only get to see about half a second of it before the screen blurs and the camera wanders off. You honestly cannot tell how bad this is from the demo, but it gets painful to watch. It is as though the studio decided to create an art film; “Porno through the eyes of a drunk.”

This clearly did not dissuade many from loving this film, but there are really plenty of hentai films out there with similar content and nowhere NEAR as difficult to watch.
