解説内容は主にヘルムホルツとギブズの自由エネルギーについて。自由エネルギーについては大学一年のときに一応は習っていたのだが、はっきり言って理解できていなかった。しかし本書の歴史背景に沿った説明のおかげで理解が深まったように思う。東方の考察についてはこちら側の妖怪などの忘却が熱力学で言う圧力の役割をしており、その圧力により幻想郷入りが起こるという興味深い考察がなされていた。感服です。
