まともな政治を行ったが、その結果戦争がおきてしまったという一人の人間から描いた作品です。
そして最後におきた個人の不幸です。

あとがきには「日本はアメリカの同盟国ですが財源状態がよろしくないので絶対守ってくれるわけではありません」って言葉、結構的を得ていますね。
