Though Cos Ro is numbered, there are no direct connections among each work.
Cos Ro 3 has an unique approach in this series in that the main character is a male, who is the older brother of the heroine.
Don't worry, you will be able to control the heroine by herself and do stuff as you improve certain stats.
There are battles in this game, which is also an unique feature in this series, but it is just to collect cards that can trade for new costumes.
This is one of my favorite series and did not disappoint me.
