シリーズものの最新作、今作では聖少年十字軍の「少年ぽさ」というものが強調されている。

無論、前の作品たちが少年的な雰囲気が感じられないという訳では決してない。
だが、今作は十字軍に参加した「少年たち」の凌辱・屈服等々がより強調されているように思う。

欲を言えば、前作第四巻の巻末で登場した頭髪をマスクから出している一人?二人?の少年の末路も見てみたかった。
