SRPGには珍しく内政が重視されており、鬼畜王ランスにも匹敵する多彩なイベントと合わせて、SRPG界に独特な存在感を未だ保ち続ける傑作｡エロシーンも少なくなく、実用にも十分耐える代物である。
主人公の悪司は敵へは非情だが家族には甘く、何人もの女をコマしてきながらも恋人へはその恋愛経験のなさから悪戦苦闘するなど、ランスと同じ「憎めない」キャラと言える。
唯一の難点としてはエロシーンにボイスがないことであり、もしそれが不満であるなら同シリーズの「大番長」「大帝国」を購入することを勧める。
